how come people just didnt demagnitize machines to begin with rather than resorting to scorching the sky

this movie is based off of alot of plato's theories, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe people in the matrix eat because it is something the mind finds essential, the mind needs to percive that the body is eating, or else it will assume that the body is dying, and then the people (including their real life bodies) will die. As Morpheus said "You'r mind makes it real" As for EMPing the whole earth at the start of the war, the humans probobly didn't have enough EMPs to do it at that point, and also there were prolly other electronics that they wanted to keep running.

ReplyDeletePeople in the matrix die of natural causes too. The system is self sustaining, as the fluids and other parts of the body are used to feed the whole operation. However, I don't know what happens to the program that's running someone who dies.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your other question, it does seem like the movie has elements of Plato's allegory of the cave in it, plus more that we probably don't recognize.
