Day 2 matrix

When Morpheus is training with Neo, Morpheus doesn't show Neo how to do anything, but makes him just figure it out on his own. Why would Morpheus do this? If he is just programed, of course he will have the skills, but it would take time to figure out the program, and they keep saying they are running out of time.

  1. I think you're absolutely right: even if you have the knowledge of kung fu downloaded into your brain, you still won't be immediately as good as a black-belt master, because you won't have the *practice*. This is an important insight into the nature of knowledge - there are at least TWO different types of knowledge, knowledge-of and knowledge-how...

  2. in a way tho, the kung-fu might also be programed to instinct, making Neo a master of it
i think morphius thinks that neo will be more pwerful if he learns it on his own

  3. I thought it was really cool how Neo was able to learn martial arts so quickly with the download feature. But, if there are these programs to teach new skills, are there any programs that teach people how to break the rules of the matrix?
