Ethics

Is it wrong to kill one person to save many even when there death seems inevitable?  Would it have been morally wrong to for Neo to kill Morpheus even if that was what Morpheus would want had he been present?  We deal with these questions today.  Neo choose to attempt a rescue. Although it is not stated, it is clear that Tank would probably kill MorphuesIs it wrong for a docter to help one of his patents commit suicide if they are unable to do it alone?  This is a highly debated question.  I believe that each person has a right to die.

  1. I think that it would be morally justified for Neo to kill Morpheus, but he does not because he is thinking mostly of the fact that Morpheus sacrificed himself for him, and Neo thinks it was in vain, because he believes that he is not the one, and so he goes to save morpheus, even at the potential peril of all the people in Zion.

  2. I personally think ethics is just guilt. Its morally wrong for Neo to kill Morphius te this point because he could never live with himself afterwards. If Neo didnt give a crap, it would be morally right.
My opinion on the assisted suicide question would probably be debated. I think its morally wrong to NOT assist someone with suicide if they can't. Whatever reason (wether it be living on machines or them not having the stones to do it, ect.) the person doesn't want to live, and offing him would be doing him a favor

  4. i think that Neo and Trinity are doing the right thing in the sence that if they kill a few "humans" but eventually save the rest it is worth it to kill them. Also because they are the "batter" for the Machines.

  5. Its a movies to so by Neo and Trinity killing all those men was for the excitment of the watcher. They could have only killed 5 people instead of like 50, but this is still wrong but makes the movie that much better. This subject also depends on if the person will benifit other or just hurt the human race as a whole.
