I'm too lazy to make a blog post myself. Here are some thoughts: There is some super religious stuff in the movie. Morpheus has faith in Neo and believes that he is "The One" which is like Jesus's apostles, and Morpheus is trying to convince other people to believe the same thing that he believes.
Neo realizes his 'messiah' type position and makes some sacrifices in his personal life (he had to stop making out in the elevator) in order to fulfill what he feels is a duty to help the remaining people.
